How voice chat works
Everything runs in the browser using the same technology as big video-call apps. The first time you use the mic, your browser asks for permission — tap Allow. On iPhone use Safari or Chrome; on Android any up-to-date browser works.
To protect people from spam calls, one-to-one voice and video calls unlock once you have been active in the room for a while. You earn points by chatting (+5 per real message) and by staying online (+1 per minute). Voice notes in the main room work straight away.
Tips for good audio
- Use earphones to avoid echo.
- If the other person can't hear you, check the browser's microphone permission (the lock icon next to the address).
- Mute yourself from the call bar when you step away — the call stays connected.

Do I need to install anything?
No. Everything works in your browser. You only need to allow microphone (and camera for video) when asked.
Why can't I call someone straight away?
Private messages, voice and video calls unlock after you have been active for a while. You earn points by chatting (+5 for a real message) and by staying in the room (+1 per minute). This keeps spammers and bots away from people's inboxes.
Can I chat while I am on a call?
Yes. Minimise the call into a small bubble and keep chatting in the room; tap the bubble to get mute and end back.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. It runs in any modern phone browser (Chrome, Safari, Samsung Internet). You can also add it to your home screen so it opens like an app. On slow data, switch on Light Chat.
How do you keep the rooms safe?
Every room has moderators, an abuse filter that censors bad language, automatic mute for spam, a report button on every message, and a personal ignore list. Harassment, hate speech and sexual content aimed at other users are not allowed.
